The thought of going back to work after maternity leave or an extended career break can be daunting, sometimes overwhelming, particularly if you are unsure of the right path for you. You may have many years of work experience under your belt, but that may not do much to lessen your worry about what the future holds. After time at home focusing on your family, you find you are not who you used be. Your values, priorities and how you define success has changed, and even a few months out of the workplace can leave you questioning the skills and experience you have to offer.
Who are you now, post baby? What does a fulfilling career and life look like for you? What are your skills and strengths? What motivates and inspires you? What fears and doubts are swirling through your mind and blocking you from taking action and moving forward? These are some of the questions we work through in both my individual and group career change programmes, powerful and focused ways to get to the heart of what you want next in your career, and make it happen.

Career Crossroads

Whether you are looking for a radical career change or a more subtle change in direction, my Career Crossroads programme will help you discover, define and chart your new path. You’ll come away with clarity on what’s next, a boost to your confidence and having discovered what you’re good at and are truly passionate about. Plus, you’ll have a concrete Action Plan to make your vision of the career that is right for you happen.

This framework is based on my proven four-step career change model outlined below, and includes a carefully designed set of 'missions' and exercises.
Missions: These are active tasks that get you engaging with the world outside of your head. They’ll test your assumptions, open your mind to new possibilities, and get you making step by step, tangible progress toward clarity on your future career.
Exercises: Exercises are reflective tasks that draw out insights, flip perspectives and hone possibilities. They’ll help you get to know yourself better, clarify your thinking, open your mind, and uncover ideas you didn’t know you had.

My four-step career change model
Step 1 - Reflect & Clarify
Research shows that those who are most satisfied and motivated by their work are in careers which reflect who they really are; careers which reflect their true nature and their real interests; careers which draw on their innate strengths and use their favourite skills; careers which allow them to honour their deeply-held values. Because of this, in this first step in my career change programme we take a hard look at who you are as a person, and your life as a whole.
By the end of Reflect & Clarify you will be clear about what makes you tick and what you must have in your new career to feel happy and fulfilled. This then acts as a concrete set of ‘me-criteria’ for evaluating career ideas or job opportunities moving forward.
Step 2 - Boost Your Confidence
Next we’ll look at building your confidence and overcoming your biggest ‘blockers’ - practical or emotional obstacles standing in your way.
Step 3 - Explore & Research
Here we will start by generating a number of possible new career choices - all the things you would love to do that fit with your values, strengths, interests, priorities, and lifestyle needs. The idea here is to be expansive, to think outside the box, not to be constrained at this stage by traditional notions of what’s possible. Your ‘best-fit’ ideas are then narrowed down to between 1-3 strong possibilities, which will be explored in more detail in the Make It Happen phase, the final step of the process.
Step 4 - Make It Happen
Make It Happen is the step where you start investigating the top possibilities that were generated in Step 3. Finally, we’ll create your personalised Action Plan to get you where you want to be in your life and career. The plan will act as a roadmap to your new career, and will include your career goals, and your research into the career options you’d like to consider further.

- 6 x 75 minute sessions held online (through Zoom).
- A 30-minute follow-up phone call four weeks after the end of the programme to review the progress you have made and trouble-shoot any challenges you might be encountering.
- Unlimited support in-between sessions - via email or short telephone calls.
- An extensive range of 'missions', exercises, and other useful resources.
- Relevant introductions to my connections and network, as required.
