Have you got big dreams for next year? Have you decided that you’re going to go full speed ahead with your business and make it your best year yet? A New Year means new beginnings, fresh opportunities and the world at your feet. And yet… Dreaming about success is one thing. Making it happen is quite another. Learn how to properly prepare for success next year to turn those pipe dreams into reality. 5 Steps To An Amazing 2015
These five steps will help you map out your business for 2015. Dreams are great but when you turn them into goals, you can make them attainable. Step #1 – You Can Never Plan To Succeed Too Early Why on earth would you start making business plans for next year when it’s only November? Quite simply because preparing for success takes time and effort. It’s not a two minute job and you’re going to have to do it around your work, family and all those other things that make up our daily lives. If you start now, you’ll be able to create a solid plan and give yourself plenty of time to take action. Step #2 – Set Your Big Goal The reason we have goals isn’t to put unwanted pressure on ourselves, it’s to make sure that we know exactly what we’re working towards. Really think about what you most want to achieve next year. Now write it down and put it somewhere you can see it. Step #3 – Break Your Big Goal Down Now you’ve got your main aim, it’s time to think about all the smaller things that will help you get there. If you’ve put a big income goal in place, how will you achieve it? Online marketing? Reaching out to new vendors? Securing new contracts? Each one of those smaller goals counts as a step towards the big one. Now you’ve got a plan. Step #4 – Check With Your Bank To grow your business, you will need to invest at some point. You don’t have to spend thousands (unless you really want to) but you will definitely have to lay some money down somewhere along the line. If you don’t want to spend more than you’ve got in the bank you’ll need to assess your accounts. Look at your income for the past year and then look at your projections for the following year. Doing that will also give you a great idea of what’s already working for you. Is there something that’s making more money for you? Are you able to increase that service/product? If numbers make your head hurt then get some advice from an accountant. And if you haven’t been keeping your books in an orderly fashion then start. Now. Step #5 – Be Organized: Make Schedules Your Best Friend Running around trying to be all things to all people at all times will just lead up to a big burn out. Try to make a schedule (or several) that works for you, your business and your lifestyle. Prioritise your “To Do” list. Yes. Running a business takes hard work and dedication. But there is a way to work smarter, not harder. By setting yourself a schedule for things, you’re able to take care of each job one by one without bouncing around from one thing to the next. It’s better to complete 3 jobs a day rather than starting 10 and finishing none. Time For Action If you follow the steps above; you’ll have clarity, structure and clear attainable goals to strive for. Now it’s time for action. Take steps each and every day to make sure that you’re constantly moving forward with your plan. What Are Your Plans? Have you thought about your big goal for next year? Why not get accountable right now? Comment and tell us what your big goal is for 2015 and tell us all how you’re going to get there. I can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned!
