Work Happy Mums is looking for a creative and dynamic marketing and communications professional to participate in a 12-week “returnship” programme. This opportunity is for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving.
The programme is open to women who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least 18 months to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. If you meet these criteria, we welcome you to apply.

At Work Happy Mums we appreciate the skills you can offer, the perspective you provide, and the contributions you will make. This programme offers you a chance to revamp your skills, update your CV with new experience and build your professional network.

The role starts on 11 September and is a part-time, up to 15 hours per week. It is based in Berlin, with the flexibility to work from home if needed.

For our marketing and communications manager position we are looking for a Jill-of-all-trades, master-of-a-few. We are specifically looking for someone to manage our website and social media, run our email marketing efforts, create content for our blog, direct outreach to partners and potential partners, plan events, and much more. We are interested in talking to people who have marketing experience from both paid and unpaid positions. Did you build your PTA’s website? Have you organised an event for a local charity? We want to talk to you.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategies and tactics to get the word out about our organisation to our key audiences. Specific tactics will include website updates, email, social media, and digital advertising campaigns.
  • Drafting compelling blogs/ content for both Work Happy Mums and third party sites.
  • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals.
  • Event management and promotion.
  • Reaching out to partners and potential partners to build relationships and manage collaboration opportunities.
  • Designing surveys to gather data and insights, and analysing the results.

Requirements:

  • 1 year minimum of marketing/comms/content creation experience.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Experience with email marketing (MailChimp), social media management (primarily Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn), web analytics (Google Analytics), and website builders (Weebly or similar).
  • Working knowledge of image design (e.g. Canva, PicMonkey) and survey creation (e.g. SurveyMonkey) tools.
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently conduct desk research.
  • A passion and strong understanding of our business mission.
  • Ability to be autonomous and take ownership of projects.
  • Confidence in conducting proactive outreach to third parties.
  • A sense of fun. We have a serious mission but like to have a good time along the way!
  • German language skills are a plus.

To apply

If you have the relevant experience and would like to apply for this programme, please send a CV and covering letter outlining why you are a good fit to: [email protected].

The deadline for applications is 1 September. Interviews will take place the following week.
The start date for the role is 11 September 2017.
